West Suffolk Professionals (WSP) are responsible for the recruitment, management, and retention of all temporary staff within the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
Job Opportunity: Bank Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Band 5 or Band 6
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Bank Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Band 5 or Band 6 who can support our existing Pharmacy team as a temporary worker for a period of up to 3 months.
Requirements
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification
- Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Recent experience of working in hospital or retail pharmacy
Compensation
Final banding and salary (per annum, pro rata) will be awarded, dependant upon experience.
Sponsorship
Please note that West Suffolk Professionals are not able to support sponsorship roles as we cannot offer guaranteed hours on Bank.
Working Hours
The Trust delivers services to patients seven days a week and aims to provide equality of treatment and outcome regardless of the day of the week.

- Core hours for the pharmacy department: 08.30-17.00, Monday-Friday
- Late shifts: 10.00-18.30
- Weekend shifts: 09.00-17.00, Saturday and Sunday
Hours for late and weekend shifts will be allocated on a rostered basis.

Services
- West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds: Acute and secondary care services (emergency department, maternity and neonatal services, day surgery unit, eye treatment centre, Macmillan unit, and children's ward). It has 500+ beds and is a partner teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.
- Community Services: Provided in collaboration with West Suffolk Alliance partners, including a range of nursing, therapy, specialist, and ongoing temporary care and rehabilitation, some at our Newmarket Community Hospital.
