Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) – Bank Contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) to work on a bank contract, joining our Community Adult Mental Health Team.
The post holder will:
- Assess care needs for individuals with complex mental health and/or social care challenges.
- Develop, implement and evaluate care plans.
- Set standards of care and management for a defined caseload.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, engaging with internal and external partners.
- Provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to junior staff/students under delegation.
The role involves delivering clinical assessment, specialist interventions, and safe medication administration/injection disposal in accordance with Trust policies. Managed caseloads require frequent focused attention.

Key Responsibilities
- Case management (assigned in consultation with medical, nursing and other disciplines).
- Deliver and document tailored mental health interventions.
- Safe handling of medication and sharps disposal.
- Training and mentoring for junior team members.
- Collaborative work with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.
Personal Specification
Ideal candidates should:
- Hold valid NMC registration.
- Demonstrate experience working in healthcare, particularly within mental health settings.
- Be motivated to support people facing complex mental health needs through direct practice.

Additional Requirements
- Access to transport is advantageous (or exemption via the Equality Act 2010).
- Experience in health education, supervision and social care leadership is desirable.
