Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist (Band 7) – Bank Contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist (Band 7) to join our Temporary Staffing Team within HPFT, working flexibly on a bank contract. The role is based with the Prevention, Assessment and Treatment in Hertfordshire (PATH) Service, a dedicated biopsychosocial care team specialising in early intervention for psychosis.
The post-holder will play a central role in delivering evidence-based psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for clients with early psychosis needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing NICE-aligned psychological assessments and treatments (individual/group formats)
- Supporting service governance for all psychological/psychologically informed interventions
- Contributing to on-going service development, research, audit, and policy work
- Offering specialist consultation and guidance to other multi-disciplinary professionals
- Collaborating closely with psychology and psychological therapy colleagues across HPFT

Applicants should have:
- Experience in healthcare settings
- Valid NHS Professional Registration
- Preference (but not mandatory) for post-graduate certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp)
Responsibilities
- Deliver modern, evidence-based assessments and psychological interventions aligned with NICE guidelines
- Provide specialist psychological care and consultative support to colleagues
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines, adhering to team policies/procedures
- Utilise research skills to drive service improvement, research, audit, teaching, and policy development
- Operate professionally across the Hertfordshire area, with regular inter-base travel requirements (self-drive mandatory)
