Specialist Breast Care Nurse (Surgical) | Outpatients | Spire Leicester Hospital – Oadby | Bank/Ad-Hoc Shifts

About the Role

Spire Leicester Hospital is seeking an experienced Specialist Breast Care Nurse to join their Outpatients department. You’ll provide tailored, high-quality care for breast patients in outpatient clinics, wards, day care, and operating theatres as part of scheduled operating days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply precise assessments of patients’ health and well-being needs
  • Deliver and receive complex, sensitive or challenging medical information
  • Continuously enhance your own knowledge and clinical practice
  • Foster a workflow and culture prioritising health, safety, and security
  • Champion equality, diversity, and human rights
  • Monitor, plan, and ensure the effective use of medical technology for patient care
  • Recognise the risks of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and uphold responsibilities in their prevention

Essential Requirements

  • NMC Registration (permanent or provisional)
  • Proven experience as a Breast Care Nurse (BCN) with insight into private sector pathways
  • Collaborative expertise in working within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Critical application of specialist knowhow and skills to diverse, complex patient cases
  • Skill in clinically reasoning, even under pressure
  • Evidence of consultation with and influencing consultants to adopt evidence-based practice
