Shaw Healthcare is looking for a Bank Chef to join Maes-Y-Dderwen. This role involves collaborating with both our Home Manager, Nutritional Therapist, and team to deliver high-quality, fresh, home-cooked meals daily. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our residents receive the same level of care we would provide for our own family.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals efficiently while allowing residents and staff to enjoy nutritious dining experiences.
- Offer varied menus, accommodating dietary needs and cultural preferences.
- Organise food for celebrations, events, or special occasions in our home.
- Procure ingredients and supplies within budget and corporate guidelines, working with approved suppliers when the senior cook is unavailable.
- Maintain accurate catering records in compliance with HACCP regulations.
- Support Environmental Health and governance inspections, including reviews by LocalAuthority and care regulators.
- Ensure kitchen hygiene standards are met through adherence to HACCP and COSHH policies.
- Promote a safe workplace by enforcing Health & Safety and welfare procedures.
- Oversee the Catering Team in your absence or during peak demand.
