Spire South Bank Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Department on the flexible staffing bank. As a Chemotherapy Specialist Nurse, you are responsible for delivering nursing services to patients within the unit. Act as key worker and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to help create and maintain a robust oncology and chemotherapy outpatient service.

Duties and Responsibilities
Working within a highly supportive team you will provide care to patients with all types of conditions in Oncology. You will be provided with full mandatory training in this and will treat your own caseload of patients and make your own decisions as part of a wider team. You will also work alongside the consultants at the hospital providing exemplary care.

- To provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in Oncology Day Chemotherapy Centre. Care of cancer patients receiving Systemic Anti- Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- Assess patients’ health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients.
- Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway.
- Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information related to cancer patient care.
Who We're Looking For
- NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
- Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in an Oncology/Haematology setting.
- Competent in venepuncture, phlebotomy and cannulation and the use of CVADs.
- Evidence of SACT competency.
- UK Oncology Nurse Society (UKONS) SACT passport
- Post registration study in cancer care or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- Compassionate and patient advocate.
- Excellent communication skills, organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
