About the Opportunity
Are you passionate about making a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of children and young people across Surrey?
We are seeking enthusiastic teams based across Surrey to support essential public health programmes:
- 2026 School-based Flu Vaccination Programme (Years Reception to Year 11)
- National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) for Reception and Year 6 pupils
Location: Various primary and secondary schools across Surrey Hours: Flexible (15–25 hours per week, between 9:00am–2:00pm) Contract: Temporary Bank Contract (up to 18 weeks, with potential extension)
Training provided for successful candidates.
Job Description
We offer an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team delivering essential public health programmes in schools across Surrey.
The successful candidate will support the School-based Flu Immunisation Programme and the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).
Main Responsibilities
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with professionals, children, young people, families, and the public across diverse settings and communication needs.
- Promote vaccination and general health messages in line with the Making Every Contact Count approach.

Administrative Support:
- Handle all pre- and post-immunisation/NCMP administrative tasks, including accurate data entry, record-keeping, and timely submission of required statistics.
- Maintain confidentiality, consent awareness, and compliance with information governance policies.
- Support equipment ordering, resource management, and cold chain processes.

Operational Support:
- Travel to venues, transport equipment, and assist with clinical set-up.
- Maximise vaccination uptake by identifying and reducing barriers during sessions.
- Provide onsite administrative support, including:
- School liaison
- Post-immunisation support
- Accurate cohort data collection

Safeguarding & Emergency Response:
- Recognise, escalate, and respond appropriately to:
- Concerns, safeguarding issues, or emergencies (e.g., anaphylaxis)
- Ensure equipment, venues, and practices are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Ideal Candidate
Essential Requirements
- Care Certificate (or willingness to complete).
- Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and young people, including sensitivity for anxious or vulnerable individuals.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Confident in building positive professional relationships across clinical and non-clinical settings.
- Proactive, self-motivated, adaptable to changing service needs.
- Quality-focused, punctual, and aware of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Competent in data entry, databases, and Excel.
- Able to travel as required, demonstrating patience and a good sense of humour.
