About the Role

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic 8a Clinical Psychologist to join our supportive Paediatric psychology team to serve the needs of young people and their families with acute and long-term health conditions.

Job Details

  • Position: Bank Psychologist
  • Hours: 15 hours per week
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Experience: Experience in Paediatrics is desirable but not absolutely necessary; a passion for working with children, young people, and their families is essential.
  • Interview Date: Wednesday 29th July 2026

Responsibilities

  • Work with children, young people, and their families on psychological issues, such as the impact of diabetes and the challenges associated with managing this.
  • Include outpatient assessment and therapy for families, as well as offering advice and consultation to the wider team.
  • Outpatient and inpatient assessment and therapy for families.
  • Offer advice, consultation, and training to the wider team.
  • Be a strong team player, working well as an integrated part of different multidisciplinary teams, consisting of medical consultants, specialist nurses, dieticians, and physiotherapists.
  • Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner with both families and the wider MDT.
  • Opportunities to help develop and shape these psychology services.
  • Supervise colleagues, trainees, work with initiatives within the wider department, and complete audit and research projects.
  • Strong links with the Doctorate programme at the University of East Anglia.
  • Opportunities to have a Clinical Psychology trainee, if appropriate for your stage of qualification.
