Bank Community Health & Social Care Support Worker – Band 3
Community Health & Social Care Support Workers (Band 3)
We are looking for experienced Community Health & Social Care Support Workers (Band 3) to join our bank and support services across Derbyshire.
About the Role
You will work within small community support bed and assessment units, providing high-quality, person-centred care to adults with a range of:
- Physical health needs
- Mental health challenges
- Social care requirements
This is a bank / ad-hoc role offering flexible shifts rather than guaranteed full-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centred care in line with individual care plans
- Support with:
- Personal care
- Mobility assistance
- Eating/drinking limitations
- Activities of daily living
- Conduct basic observations (e.g. blood pressure, blood glucose, urinalysis) and escalate concerns appropriately
- Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing, including social and emotional support
- Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adhering to policies, protocols and safeguarding procedures
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safe, effective service delivery

Shift Patterns & Sites
Services operate 24/7 across:
- Community Support Bed, Buxton (SK17 7BR)
- Community Support Bed, Ilkeston (DE7 8PF)
- Community Support Bed, Staveley (S43 3LY)
Shift times (no long days):
- 07:00–14:00 (early)
- 14:00–22:00 (late)
- 22:00–07:00 (night)
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker in a health/social care setting
- Experience working with:
- Adults with physical disabilities
- Learning disabilities
- Mental health needs
- Older adults
- Ability to travel reliably to at least one of the three sites (Buxton, Ilkeston, Staveley) for all shift patterns (early, late, night)
- Strong understanding of:
- Safeguarding
- Confidentiality
- Professional boundaries

Qualifications (pick one):
- GCSE Equivalents (Maths & English) PLUS either:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or
- Equivalent health/social care qualification, or
- Demonstrated experience in a CQC-regulated organisation with Care Certificate evidence
Compliance
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- DBS check (preferably registered on the Update Service)
- References covering the last 3 years
- Willingness to provide immunisation evidence (e.g. TB, Hep B, Varicella, MMR)
