An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Diabetes Specialist Podiatrist to join our Bank in the well-established Multidisciplinary Diabetes Footcare Team (MDFT) within Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
About The Service
Our Diabetes Footcare Service provides comprehensive acute foot care across both Frimley Park Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital. You will join a friendly and supportive team comprising five Diabetes Podiatrists, two Podiatry Assistants, and dedicated administrative support (based at Wexham Park).
Our clinics include:
- In-patient reviews
- Out-patient appointments
- MDFT sessions
With Consultant input available throughout the week. The wider MDFT includes:
- Diabetologists
- Vascular Surgeons
- Vascular Nurses
- Foot & Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeons
- Interventional Radiologists
- Microbiologists
- Orthotists
- Tissue Viability Nurses
- The Amputee Rehabilitation Team
Ensuring patients receive seamless, multidisciplinary care.
This post is to cover Wexham Park Hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
- Coordinate and provide advanced assessment, diagnosis and management of a specialist diabetes caseload.
- Work in close collaboration with relevant consultants, GPs, podiatrists and other members of the MDFT and community Podiatry to provide a patient-centred, seamless, integrated approach.
- Maintain clinical standards and protocols of care in line with acute and service needs.
- Provide Podiatric assessment, diagnosis and management of a complex caseload with referrals from Diabetes, ED and General Medicine.
- Provide specialist Podiatric advice to other specialist areas.
- Work autonomously as the Diabetes Podiatrist on site during periods of annual leave cover.
- Support research and development projects.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria:
- HCPC Registered Podiatrist
- BSc Podiatry
- Registered with RCoP
- Post-graduate education/qualification in Podiatric diabetic specialism
Desirable criteria:
- Non-Medical Prescribing
Experience
Essential criteria:
- Substantial NHS Experience at a senior level
- Experience of managing less experienced staff
- Experienced in the provision of high-risk treatments and diabetic assessments
- Working independently as a team member
- Awareness of health and safety
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria:
- IT proficient
- Evidence of a CPD portfolio
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Demonstrate the ability to critically appraise
- Record-keeping skills
