Cygnet Hospital Colchester is a 59 bed service providing a range of intensive support and rehabilitation services for men with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or mental health needs.

A new position has arisen for a Bank Driver to facilitate the transport service needs for our patients on a casual basis as and when required.

Shifts will be scheduled between Mon-Sun including weekends /Bank Holidays.

You will be responsible for ensuring the vehicles used are refuelled and to check the vehicles before going out and after return, keeping them clean inside and out and reporting any faults/damage

Please note you will need to be comfortable to a drive an 8 or 9 seater minibus, both manual and automatic and for insurance purposes, must be over 21 years of age and have held a full UK driving license for at least 2 years.

You’re day-to-day…

Provide transport for escort visits for both service users & staff Thorough vehicle checks to ensure safety & report problems Clean & care for vehicles Comply with health & safety policies & Cygnet protocols.

The post holder will need to demonstrate each of the following:

Confident, outgoing personality Excellent communication skills, able to plan and keep to a timed schedule Hold a valid full UK driving license with no more than 3 points Experience of driving in different environments including cities and motorways, both daytime and evenings. Able to navigate around an area using Sat Nav or maps Physically fit for getting in and out of vehicles and loading and unloading Willing to work unsupervised Good customer service skills Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. To be able to liaise with both patients, staff and third parties. Health & safety experience & knowledge Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting (desirable).
