Bank Early Years Assistant

Nursery – Shortlands Salary: £14.15 PH (dependent on qualifications & experience)

Location: Bromley

Are you looking to work for an organisation whose culture is built on the HEART principles—Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork? Where you can believe in your impact, feel supported, and make a lasting difference for the next generation? This role lets you say:

“I did that.”

We are appointing a flexible working practitioner to join our Bright Flex / Bank team at our Shortlands nursery.

The Role

As part of our Bright Flex / Bank team, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of agency work, while benefiting from the security and rewards of being a permanent employee—giving you the best of both worlds.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality care and early years education for babies and children up to 5 years old
  • Leading interactive play, storytelling, and activities designed to foster curiosity and development, helping each child reach key milestones
  • Offering supportive, engaging, and enriching learning experiences tailored to every child’s needs

What We’re Looking for

  • Ideal but not essential: Experience in roles such as Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder, or similar
  • A true passion for making learning joyful and engaging for children
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with both children, parents, and colleagues
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of a nursery setting
  • Commitment to Bright Horizons’ safeguarding practices and ethical values

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
