Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Bank Endoscopy Practitioner to join our hardworking Endoscopy team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care within a busy and well-established endoscopy service.

Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, helping to ensure they receive safe, compassionate and effective care from admission through to discharge. Your contribution will be vital in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations while delivering an outstanding experience for every patient who comes through our doors.

About The Role

As a Bank Endoscopy Practitioner, you will provide expert clinical support to patients undergoing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. You'll work closely with consultants, nursing colleagues and wider clinical teams to ensure procedures run efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, dignity and care.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
  • Support patients throughout their endoscopy pathway, ensuring comfort, dignity and reassurance at every stage
  • Assist consultants and the wider clinical team during endoscopic procedures
  • Prepare clinical areas, equipment and instruments in line with department standards
  • Monitor patients before, during and after procedures, escalating concerns appropriately
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Support effective patient flow to ensure endoscopy lists run smoothly and efficiently
  • Liaise with wards, outpatient departments and other hospital teams to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, health and safety, and clinical governance standards
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming clinical environment
  • Promote a positive patient experience through excellent communication and compassionate care

Who We're Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) with no restrictions on practice
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working within an Endoscopy environment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current Endoscopy guidelines, standards and best practice
  • Experience working within an acute hospital setting
  • Competent in delivering safe, high-quality patient care
  • Motivated to develop and utilise extended clinical skills such as cannulation, venepuncture and IV drug administration
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with consultants, colleagues and patients
  • Able to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Organised, reliable and adaptable, with excellent attention to detail
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care within a private hospital setting
  • Committed to maintaining high clinical standards and continuous improvement

Contract: Bank

Days/Hours: Flexible bank shifts available within department operating hours, Monday to Saturday between 07:30 – 18:00
