Community Healthcare Assistant – Bank To Be Named In Solihull & Birmingham
About the Role
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care across all four nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care. Our mission is to ensure everyone gets the best possible quality of life during terminal illness and at the end of life.
Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness do not receive the care they deserve. This role is part of our mission to close this gap and support all those who need it.
As a Community Healthcare Assistant (Bank To Be Named), you will work from home across Birmingham and Solihull, providing personalised, dignified, and compassionate end-of-life care to those in their own homes. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team, offering practical support while ensuring patients and families respect, dignity, and comfort are preserved.
Your Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Assistant, your role will include:
- Supporting people in the comfort of their own homes with bedside continuity, ensuring their care plans are adhered to.
- Assisting with daily tasks, including personal care, skin integrity, nutrition/hydration, mobility, rest/sleep, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Observing and reporting changes in a person’s condition, assisting with symptom management while escalating concerns promptly to registered healthcare professionals.
- Communicating calmly, sensitively, and professionally with patients and their families, preserving dignity, choice, and well-being.
- Working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, and a person-centred ethos.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
