Bank Host and Catering Assistant

Host and Catering Assistant | Customer Service | Bank Work – Flexi Shifts | Cambridge | Free On-Site Parking

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is seeking a Host and Catering Assistant to join their bank of staff. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop their customer service and catering skills in a private hospital setting.


About the Role

In this fast-paced environment, you will assist our Catering team in delivering high-quality care to hospital guests. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Catering team with providing excellent service to patients, including assisting with menu choices and refreshments
  • Helping chefs with food preparation and maintaining stock rotation in restaurant areas
  • Imparting exceptional customer service, with a friendly and professional attitude when serving others
  • Ensuring strict adherence to standards of quality assurance and patient confidentiality
  • Safeguarding compliance with all Health and Safety regulations

  • Assisting with the provision of timely and satisfying dining experiences
  • Contributing to food preparation and restaurant maintenance tasks
  • Acting as an advocate for customers/staff with a warm and welcoming approach
  • Monitoring and reporting any breaches of quality or safety standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a smooth workplace operation

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has prior experience in a catering environment (essential)
  • Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills
  • Shows initiative and is comfortable working independently
  • Maintains a positive, flexible, and people-first attitude
  • Possesses (or demonstrates the ability to obtain) a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
  • Is available for flexible shifts, extending from 6AM to 9PM, covering Monday to Sunday
