Salary: £12.85 per hour
Overview:

We are now looking for a Bank Housekeeping Assistant to join the team, helping to keep the residential home clean and safe for our residents, staff and visitors.
New Bradley Hall is a purpose built, dementia friendly home, offering the highest quality of residential care in a stylish and homely environment. The home provides 66 en-suite rooms across three floors, all furnished to the highest standard. There are a range of lounges and quiet rooms, so that individuals are able to enjoy a varied lifestyle. Within the home there is also a purpose built cinema room, on-site hairdressing facilities and a café area. Our aim is to provide the right care, tailored to meet residents’ individual needs and preferences. We want to support residents to maximise their independence.

Job Description:
Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- To undertake bed making with the help of the residents, if they are capable, and if they are not, to do the task for them.
- To provide a high quality Housekeeping service to ensure all areas of the home are cleaned to a high standard and that all linen and resident’s personal clothing/items are correctly laundered.
- To ensure that all areas of the Care Home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with the specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and that they effectively meet the residents’ and homes needs.
- To collect dirty laundry and when time is available, deal with laundry.
- To check that all residents’ personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair, and returned to the correct resident in a timely manner after each laundry session.
- To check all areas of the home are supplied with adequate housekeeping items and inform the manager of any shortages.
- To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.

Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience of providing a domestic/cleaning service, ideally within a residential care setting.
- Understanding of COSHH.
- Understanding of Infection Prevention and Control.
- Knowledge of care and safeguarding procedures.
- Be comfortable with manual handling processes and able to carry these out in a safe manner.
