Job Description: Medical Secretary
Location: Cromwell Hospital, London SW5 0TU
Contract Type: Bank contract
Pay Rate: £17ph
Shifts
- Days: Mon to Fri
- Times: 9am to 5pm
- Details: Shifts will vary week to week depending on need but will primarily be to cover leave and sickness absence with additional admin assistance from time to time.

Role Overview
As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support for the Medical Secretaries’ department. You will interact with patients, consultants, staff and visitors to facilitate a coordinated pathway of care for patients.
What you’ll do
- Provide admin support to the department.
- Prioritise doctors’ workload accordingly ensuring each practitioner’s work is accurately completed on time.
- Maintain a polite and friendly manner and a high standard of confidentiality.
- Work as part of a team – showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.
- File all correspondence, test results and referral letters into the patient’s notes before returning to medical records.
- Receive telephone messages and relevant queries. Send/receive faxed messages and relay promptly to doctor concerned. Request patient information from outside organisations.
- Support in the coordination of our multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure consultant engagement and the smooth running of the meeting.

What you’ll bring
- Medical Secretary experience.
- Experience within private healthcare.
- MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) Experience would be desirable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good time management and prioritisation skills.
- Organisational skills.
- Telephony skills.
- IT Literate.
