Bank Mental Health Support Worker - Bradford

Support / Care Worker

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire (BD1) Type: Permanent Salary: £13.45 per hour


About the Role

SIL is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support / Care Worker to join their team in Bradford. If you have experience or genuine interest in providing care, support or assistance, we would love to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with a variety of personal care routines (e.g., washing, dressing, toileting).
  • Promote independence by encouraging participation in self-care tasks.
  • Monitor and report on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the individual.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Follow care plans designed by professional staff, ensuring they are carried out correctly and safely.
  • Maintain hygiene standards, cleaning environments to a high standard.
  • Prepare and serve meals following dietary requirements.
  • Foster inclusive environments by liaising with healthcare professionals and keeping updated records.

Requirements

  • Experience: Experience in care work is desirable but not mandatory—genuine passion and dedication to assist those in need are essential.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
    • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Empathy and patience when dealing with vulnerable individuals.
  • Physical Capability: Some physical workload may be required, such as helping individuals move or lifting light weights.
