Bank Patient Support Porter | Theatres | Spire Murrayfield - Edinburgh | Bank | Weekly pay
Spire Murrayfield Hospital is looking to recruit a Patient Support Porter to join their fantastic Theatre team on a bank basis.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Correctly undertake tasks that have been delegated in relation to specific patients as agreed with the care team
- Prepare patient, equipment and materials appropriately
- Obtain consent from patients before starting the tasks e.g. moving and handling, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times
- Moving patient from bed to trolley; trolley to operating table; operating table to trolley; trolley to bed
- Identify and report to an appropriate person any significant changes that might affect the patient’s health and well-being during escort duties and moving/handling
- Respect patients’ privacy, dignity, wishes and beliefs and minimise any necessary discomfort
- Record information related to designated tasks and activities accurately and passes it on to the relevant person in the team on time
- Liaise with the theatre team regarding the organisation of theatre lists
- Provide patient support within the anaesthetic room
- Ensure moving and handling equipment is clean and in safe working order
- Ensure table attachments are clean and in working order
- Transport safely and timely specimens from theatre to the designated area, recording legibly and accurately necessary details
- Transport equipment as delegated by the theatre team
