Bank Perioperative Practitioner

Anaesthetic Practitioner – Bank Position | Theatres | Cambridge | Flexible Working Hours

About the Role

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Anaesthetic Practitioner to join their friendly, hard-working team on a banking basis. This opportunity allows you to contribute to one of the UK’s leading private hospitals while progressing your career in healthcare.

Location & Flexibility

  • Cambridge
  • Bank staff required: Monday to Friday (7:30 AM – 8:30 PM)
  • Competitive pay rates
  • Flexible working hours to cover busy periods, sickness, or annual leave

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to anaesthetic practice in a multi-specialty environment, including procedures under general, regional, and local anaesthesia
  • Prepare the operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery, ensuring:
    • Instrumentation, equipment, and supplies are ready for specific procedures
    • Waste is minimised
  • Accurately complete Patient Records in a timely manner
  • Perform anaesthetic duties

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with proven experience in Anaesthetic
    • ALS (Advanced Life Support) and Airway Maintenance certifications would be beneficial but are not essential

  • Attributes & Skills:

    • Highly enthusiastic, dedicated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Hones your skills in perioperative care, particularly for surgical procedures in:
      • General Surgery
      • Orthopaedics
      • Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)
      • Plastics
      • Ophthalmics
  • Teamwork & Commitment:

    • Actively contributes to patient care provision, organisation, and management in the operating theatre
