Position
Opportunities have arisen for Bank Physiotherapists within NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
Please note: You will only be considered for this post if:
- You are currently in the same role in your substantive post and leaving the Physiotherapy Department within NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
- You will be appointed to the bank at the same band as your current substantive role if you are a Physiotherapist.
- You must apply within 1 month prior to your termination date if still in your substantive role.
- If you have already terminated your post, applications will only be considered if your termination date was within the last month of applying.
What You Will Do
In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, the Physiotherapist will:
- Be accountable for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care for defined caseloads.
- Work within the professional standards of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
- Ensure safe working practices for themselves and others, operating within their recognised Scope of Practice.
- Follow agreed competencies and work in hospital, outpatient, or community settings.

Core responsibilities:
- Work with Team Leads or senior team members, adhering to local and national protocols, guidelines, and best practice evidence.
- Provide safe and effective care to patients in line with professional standards.
- Supervise and advise less experienced registered and non-registered staff and contribute to teaching and learning programs within the team.
- Identify opportunities for further education and skill development to benefit the ward or department.
Requirements:
- Possess current HCPC registration or be a student in the process of obtaining registration (imminent).
- For community work, a valid UK driving license is required, along with access to a car (or in the process of obtaining one).
