Job Opportunity: Bank Porters (Current Vacancies)

About the Role

Hotel Services at Hywel Dda University Health Board are recruiting five individuals to join a busy and committed department, providing essential portering services across all wards and departments. The successful candidates will be integral to the smooth running of the organisation, supporting critical hospital operations.

We are seeking Bank Porters to join our well-established team. This role requires:

  • Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Capability to adjust shifts as necessary to meet service needs.
  • Availability to cover shifts across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves a varied duty spectrum, including:

  • Patient transfers between wards and departments.
  • Waste handling and disposal in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Responding to security concerns, including monitoring and assisting in emergency situations.
  • Moving and positioning patients safely (requiring Moving & Handling training).
  • Assisting with furniture and medical equipment relocation.
  • Mortuary duties (supporting related services as required).
  • Operating electronic helpdesks (training provided).
  • Undertaking restraining procedures (training provided).
  • Attending fire safety training to ensure compliance with workplace regulations.

All successful applicants will receive comprehensive on-the-job training, covering health & safety, moving & handling techniques, restraint practices, and electronic systems.
