Exciting Bank Opportunity for a Paediatric Audiologist
An exciting bank opportunity has arisen for a paediatric Audiologist to join our team - with a special interest in paediatrics.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Provide audiological cover for ENT clinics, consisting of basic pure tone audiometry, tympanometry and speech audiometry as required.
- Provide over 3 clinics and under 3 clinics (full training will be given).
- Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to paediatric patients referred to the Department from GPs and the ENT Department, including provision of a full range of NHS digital hearing aids.
- Take aural impressions for paediatric age groups, working within national and departmental protocols and using own clinical judgement to ensure safe and competent practice.
- Participate in departmental audit, research and development.
- Develop and maintain personal skills and knowledge within the audiological field, maintaining up to date knowledge of procedural and professional developments and disseminating this information to the rest of the Audiological Team as required.
- Instruct and train other members of staff and locums as required.
- Assess paediatric patients.
- Liaise with and refer to medical auditory implant, hearing therapy and local support services as necessary.
- Provide a comprehensive range of Paediatric NHS digital hearing aids to patients based on this information.
- Assess the benefit derived from hearing aids, using subjective and objective measures, including informal methods, appropriate questionnaires and insertion gain measurements.
- Provide ongoing assessment and maintenance for paediatric hearing impaired patients.
- Liaise with staff involved in the assessment and rehabilitation process, including Audiological and Medical staff and local support services to ensure the effectiveness of routine services.
- Perform more advanced test procedures, including vestibular and ERA.
- Provide Paediatric Tinnitus assessment and rehabilitation.
