About the Role
Spire Leeds Hospital is seeking an experienced Specialist Physiotherapist in Women’s Health to join their flexible bank staffing team, providing highly skilled assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for pelvic health patients in their outpatient service.
Spire Leeds Hospital, situated in Roundhay, Leeds, has been delivering healthcare for nearly 30 years and stands as the region’s largest private hospital—offering an extensive range of services, including:
- Four operating theatres
- Sterile services department
- Dedicated endoscopy suite
- Diagnostic and imaging department (MRI & CT scanners)
- Physiotherapy and outpatient services (open 6 days per week)
The Physiotherapy department needs a discretionary, empathetic, and professional specialist physiotherapist to support their high-demand caseload on a flexible basis.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires expertise in:
- Assessing and treating complex pelvic health conditions, including:
- Obstetrics-related MSK issues
- Urinary incontinence and urinary urgency
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Bowel problems (constipation, faecal incontinence)
- Male bladder/bowel issues
- Developing personalised treatment plans aligned with best practice
- Applying clinical reasoning to varied and challenging caseloads
- Collaborating with consultants to innovate and improve patient care
- Delivering high-quality, inclusive care while upholding equality, dignity, and patient privacy
- Working within a health-safety-compliance framework, including mandatory training and infection control protocols
- Adapting to flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required

Requirements
Professional Qualifications & Experience
- Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy) or equivalent
- Post-Graduate Diploma in specialist programme (e.g., Pelvic Health Physiotherapy)
- Post-graduate experience in pelvic health, including:
- Completion of the POGP Female Lower Urinary Tract course (or equivalent)
- Experience treating:
- Female urinary incontinence & pelvic prolapse
- Bowel dysfunction (constipation, incontinence)
- Male bladder/bowel dysfunction
- Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Evidence of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) & post-registration training
Essential Competencies
- Clinical expertise in managing complex pelvic health cases
- Leadership & innovation in treatment approaches
- Empathy & discretion in working with vulnerable patients
- Ability to adapt to flexible shifts, including on-call commitments
- Digital literacy (MS Office & related health IT systems)
- Infection control & mandatory training compliance (including health & safety)
