Specialist Radiographer – Bank/Ad-Hoc Shifts (Nottingham, Tollerton)

At Spire Nottingham Hospital

Spire Healthcare is a leading independent healthcare group in the UK, operating 38 hospitals and over 50 clinics across England, Wales, and Scotland. We deliver world-class diagnostics, inpatient, day-case, and outpatient care—including private mental health, musculoskeletal, and dermatology services.

Part of our team through flexible, bank/ad-hoc shifts at Spire Nottingham Hospital, you’ll be part of delivering high-quality radiographic services with clinical excellence as our priority.

About the Role

This opportunity is for a Specialist Radiographer to join our changeover and ad-hoc rotation, ensuring high-quality imaging with clinical leadership at its core.

You’ll provide:

  • Highly skilled radiographic imaging—making informed diagnostic decisions with a professional, compassionate approach.
  • Safe and efficient patient care—adhering to legal standards (e.g., IR(ME)R) while maintaining radiation protection guidelines.
  • Clinical supervision—supporting radiographers, assistants, and students to uphold Spire’s standards.
  • Appropriate patient communication—explaining findings responsibly as per Health & Care Professions Council (HPC) policies.

Key Responsibilities

Patient & Diagnostic Care

  • Ensure quality, appropriate imaging through clinical judgement and adherence to Spire/NHS protocols.
  • Administer IV contrast (aligned with Spire’s protocols).
  • Pre-scan checks: Verify patient details and legitimacy of requests; justify and refuse inappropriate scans if required.
  • Pregnancy screening prior to high-risk procedures.
  • Provide clear post-examination guidance—results management, transport arrangements, and ensuring patient safety/consent.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
