Bank Sterile Services Technician
SSD | Theatres | Bank, Ad hoc shifts | Redbridge | No nights
Spire London East Hospital (formerly Spire Roding) is looking for a Sterile Service Technician to join their fantastic theatre team on a bank-based contract to cover ad hoc shifts Monday to Saturday.
Located in Redbridge, between East London and Essex, Spire London East Hospital provides a range of private medical services, including outpatient clinics, physiotherapy, surgery, and diagnostics in a clean, comfortable environment.
About the Hospital
- 24 inpatient beds
- 16 day case (pod) rooms
- Four operating theatres
- An endoscopy suite
- Two extended recovery units
- On-site pharmacy, X-ray, and outpatient facilities
About the Role
As a Bank Sterile Services Technician, you will be crucial in maintaining a high standard of sterilisation for Theatre and Endoscopy equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Loading heavy sets of instrumentation into washing machinery
- Cleaning, drying, and inspecting instruments
- Reassembling and repackaging equipment in preparation for the next procedure

Responsibilities
✅ Maintaining a high-touch, sterile environment for all surgical equipment ✅ Ensuring submitters meet compliance requirements for sterilisation and processing ✅ Processing all sterilisation equipment efficiently and accurately ✅ Providing support and guidance on maintenance, handling, and sterilisation of high-risk items ✅ Reporting and escalating any compliance issues to the appropriate team ✅ Confidentiality of patient and operational information in line with Spire policies
What We’re Looking For
🔹 Must have prize experience as a Sterile Services Technician 🔹 Happy to work on an ad hoc shift pattern, including weekends (no nights) 🔹 Able to lift and manoeuvre heavy equipment and instruments 🔹 Confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure theatre environment 🔹 Commitment to maintaining sterility and infection control standards
