Bank Support Worker at Cartref

Support Worker – Dementia Care

Location: Cartref Care Home, Brecon Rd, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5PJ Salary: £13.67 per hour Contract Type: Bank 0-hour


About the Role

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a passionate and caring individual to join Cartref, a dedicated dementia care home in Hay-on-Wye. Our homely, supportive environment is centred around personalised, high-quality care, ensuring every resident feels valued, safe, and happy.

Cartref specialises in dementia care, adapting to each resident’s unique needs while maintaining a warm, engaging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you’ll deliver person-centred care and emotional support with expertise. Key duties include:

  • Assisting with daily personal care (bathing, dressing, hygiene)
  • Sticking to individualised care plans while ensuring dignity, choice, and inclusion
  • Accurate record-keeping of care activities, including fluid/food intake and incidents
  • Working harmoniously with your team to maintain a safe, happy, and caring environment
  • Encouraging engagement through tailored activities
