I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

I am known to have a great sense of humour and really enjoy attending concerts and musicals, as well as thoroughly enjoying the fun of watching reality TV programmes. It is really important to me that my support staff have an interest in the activities I enjoy, to be able to fully engage with me.
My support workers will be working as part of a team to help me with personal care and to assist me with my music and hydrotherapy sessions and other tasks relating to my care.
The work is varied and involves assisting me to access the local community and its amenities, along with accompanying me on outings and holidays. At times, it may be necessary to work additional hours depending on the activities that I have chosen to attend which could also include an overnight stay.
This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check. Full induction and training will be provided.
