Bank Surgical Care Practitioner London, The Lister Hospital

Contract Type: Bank

We’re looking for a Bank Surgical Care Practitioner to join our Theatres team at The Lister Hospital, London, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The Lister Hospital has been delivering exceptional care in the heart of Chelsea for over 30 years. With its location overlooking the River Thames and close links to major teaching hospitals, you’ll work alongside some of the UK’s most respected consultants in a facility known for consistently high standards of patient care. The hospital is home to one of the UK’s largest private fertility services and offers access to a wide range of complex and specialist treatments.

As a Surgical Care Practitioner in our Theatres Department, you’ll join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering care across a broad surgical caseload. Our department includes four modern theatres supporting specialties such as Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, General and Colorectal surgery, ENT, Head and Neck, Thoracic and Spinal surgery, and IVF.

In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced consultants and theatre colleagues in a collaborative environment that prioritises safety, continuous improvement and shared learning. You’ll take an active role across the full surgical pathway, from assessment through to recovery, with the opportunity to use advanced clinical skills and contribute directly to high-quality patient outcomes.

Surgical Care Practitioners are integral members of the surgical team, supporting procedures and delivering care before, during and after surgery under the supervision of a senior surgeon.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
