Role: Relief Staff Bank (Wellbeing Assistant)
Location: Malmesbury SN16 0FN
Contract: Bank (Zero Hours)
Pay Rate: £13.21
We’re seeking relief staff to complement our existing Sheltered Housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a flexible, rewarding role where they can make a real difference in the lives of older people.
About The Role
We are looking for someone to join our team, on a casual basis, covering staff holidays and sickness. Our bank workers play a fundamental part in ensuring our residents have the support and reassurance that Abbeyfield strive to provide.
The Role of Wellbeing Assistant
With the welfare of our residents at heart, your job will be to ensure that our residents, staff and assets are kept safe, by being vigilant and conducting regular site checks and maintaining security. You will be the first point of contact in the event of an emergency and to respond immediately and appropriately to the Warden Alarm calls.

Your role may also include providing domestic portage, scheduled cleaning and laundry, waste management, and responding to emergency repairs.
About You
You'll be customer focused and passionate about improving the lives of older people. Friendly, sociable and reliable, you'll have excellent communication skills and be able to read and write to a good standard. Self motivated, you'll be assertive and able to work independently. But you'll also know that you are just part of a bigger team and are happy to help out when you see an opportunity.
You should also be able to demonstrate good organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and stay calm under pressure. IT skills are also key to all our front line roles, as you'll be using computers. You should also be able to understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

Pay & Benefits
In line with your casual (bank) worker assignment agreement, we offer competitive pay that is benchmarked regularly, and in line with those of our employed staff in similar roles. Flexible work deserves flexible pay. Access your earnings anytime through Dayforce Wallet
And depending on how many hours you work, you will accrue leave at an equivalent rate of 31 days paid leave in a full calendar year, inclusive of bank/public holidays (pro rata).
To carry out this role, you will be provided with mandatory training to get you started, as part of a comprehensive induction. To work for us in future assignments, you will be expected to keep your mandatory training up to date.
Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield. You may be asked to provide details regarding convictions; failure to disclose convictions may result in an offer of employment being revoked.
