About the Role
As a Banking Representative, you will act as the 'face of Metro Bank', interacting with customers to provide exceptional service. You’ll have a deep understanding of our products and services, driving customer satisfaction while maintaining ethical and compliant operations. This role also requires taking ownership of financial risks, ensuring responsible decision-making for our customers, colleagues, and the bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service, understanding and meeting customer needs with tailored products and solutions.
- Operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks based on fluctuating customer demand and store objectives.
- Stay updated on regulatory and non-regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and fair transactions at all times.
- Embrace ownership in risk management, call out concerns when appropriate, and act with integrity.
- Collaborate with a supportive team while balancing personal commitments and work-life balance.

Working Arrangements & Training
Location & Schedule
- Branch: Metro Bank Manchester (Market Street).
- Store Hours: Monday–Saturday.
- Full-time contract: 37.5 hours per week, across 5 days (flexible options available).
- Shift Timings:
- 8:45am – 5:15pm or 9am – 5:30pm.
- Saturday work: Not mandatory; our team coordinates shifts fairly, ensuring fairness and forethought.
- Work-life balance prioritised; shifts accommodate personal needs where possible.
Training Programme
- A blended learning approach including:
- Hands-on live team sessions with trainers.
- Online guided study and structured modules.
- On-the-job training (observational, mentorship, and direct customer engagement).
- Progression at your own pace, guided by managerial support.
Essential Requirements

- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships in a high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail, even under demanding conditions, to avoid errors.
- Deep understanding of financial risks and implications for Metro Bank and customers.
- Fluency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- No prior finance/banking experience strictly required, but customer service experience in a structured environment is essential.
