Head of Banking and Finance Solicitor Birmingham Partner / Legal Director Level

Salary: Highly Competitive + Outstanding Benefits Package

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banking and Finance Solicitor to lead and develop the Birmingham banking practice of a highly regarded national law firm. This strategic appointment offers the chance to head a successful team, work alongside nationally recognised specialists and play a key role in the continued growth of one of the firm's core commercial practice areas.

The Role

As Head of Banking and Finance, you will take responsibility for leading a busy and well-established practice advising an impressive client base of banks, alternative lenders, financial institutions, corporate borrowers, developers, and investors. You will advise on a broad range of secured and unsecured lending transactions, acquisition finance, real estate finance, development finance, refinancing, asset-based lending, and corporate banking matters.

Working closely with colleagues across the firm's corporate, real estate, restructuring, and insolvency teams, you will deliver commercially focused advice on complex, high-value transactions while driving the continued growth of the Birmingham practice. You will also play a pivotal role in developing client relationships, winning new work, mentoring junior lawyers, and contributing to the firm's wider national banking strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
