Superb Banking Tax Manager Opportunity
The role involves working on corporate tax advisory engagements for financial services clients in a supportive and successful environment.
The Role
- Deliver tax advice, including Pillar Two advisory work
- Provide tax audit support on audited financial services entities
- Manage and review tax compliance
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Negotiate commercial arrangements
- Follow potential tax research and advisory needs
Key Responsibilities
Client and Relationship Management
- Drive and lead relationships across a portfolio of financial services clients
- Ensure efficient management of client work while maintaining financial discipline
- Proactively identify further service and revenue opportunities
- Provide tailored tax strategy, structural advice, and practical implementation

Team Management & Development
- Manage and mentor junior team members to ensure high-quality delivery
- Oversee corporate tax compliance and reporting work
- Uphold performance management responsibilities
Technical Expertise
- Operate at Manager (or equivalent) grade, with a minimum of 7-10 years’ relevant experience
- Proficiency in UK corporate tax, including governance, stamp duty, VAT, IR35, and Pillar 2
- Knowledge of transfer pricing guidelines and international tax matters is advantageous
- Demonstrate an ability to conduct detailed technical research for complex projects
Business Development
- Engage in business development activities to expand client portfolio
- Collaborate with wider practice teams to support growth
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, excelling in both written and oral communication
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders

Qualifications Essential
- CTA (Corporate Tax Advocate)
- ACA/CA (Chartered Accountant or equivalent)
- Alternatively, a legal/HMRC/international credential of equal value
Desired Traits & Experience
Functional Skills
- Specialized knowledge in corporate tax (most essential)
- Strong working command of UK tax law and related frameworks
- Expertise in regulatory reporting and analysis
Industry Focus
- Experience in banking, insurance, asset management, or other financial services is valuable but not mandatory
Personality & Adaptability
- Drive to develop both personal and team performance
- Eager to learn, adapt, and embrace evolving business & regulatory demands
