About the Role As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen brigade to deliver exceptional dishes to Nobu Hotel London Portman Square’s high standards.
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider culinary team, you will assist with food preparation, uphold hygiene standards, and help maintain a smooth, efficient kitchen operation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef eager to develop their skills in a luxury hotel known for its internationally recognised cuisine.
Responsibilities
The Commis Chef will be expected to:
- Assist with preparation, presentation, and plating of dishes in line with Nobu standards
- Ensure their workstation remains organised, stocked, and ready for service
- Follow recipes and brand guidelines with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain strict adherence to food hygiene, allergen protocols, and health & safety regulations
- Support receiving, storing, and organising deliveries/ingredients efficiently
- Keep kitchen equipment clean, well-maintained, and safe for use
- Collaborate with the entire kitchen brigade during service
- Provide support and guidance to new team members
- Contribute a proactive, positive, and team-oriented approach
- Assist other sections as needed during busy periods
