Bar and Waiting Assistant
We’re looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Bar and Waiting Assistant to join our team at The Brackenrigg Inn. You’ll be detail-oriented, highly organised, and eager to explore the many moving parts that keep a busy operation running like clockwork.
You’ll support our day-to-day service with care and professionalism, anticipating guests’ needs and ensuring every interaction feels effortless and welcoming. Working closely with the wider team, you’ll also maintain the high standards that allow The Brackenrigg Inn to run smoothly behind the scenes, so our guests can simply unwind, soak in the views, and lose themselves in the quiet joy of the moment.
Responsibilities
- In our restaurant and bar:
- Welcoming guests in a warm, friendly, timely and relaxed yet professional manner.
- Working in all areas of the restaurant and bar.
- Working behind the bar.
- Waiting on tables inside and outside.
- Keeping the area you’re responsible for clean, tidy, and organised.
- Helping with cutlery and supporting Kitchen Porter as needed.
- Working together as part of our committed, efficient, and dynamic team.
- In our kitchen and behind the scenes:
- Making sure that our chemical spray guns and blue towel dispensers are filled and replenished.
- Ensuring waste bins are emptied regularly.
- Washing dishes and cutlery and making sure all areas have enough to use (this will include using our dishwashers).
- Polishing cutlery ready for our bar and waiting teams to use.
- Cleaning and sanitising our kitchens and back of house corridor floors as needed.
- Washing and polishing glasses.
- Keeping the bar team well stocked with the products and supplies they need to run smoothly.
