The Chancery Rosewood
The Chancery Rosewood is redefining luxury in Mayfair, housed in the former U.S. Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield. With 144 suites by Joseph Dirand and a collection of dynamic dining and bar spaces, it’s a place where experiences are curated, conversations flow, and every detail matters.
As Bar Head Waiter
You will be central to the food and beverage experience across our outlets — combining exceptional guest-facing service with the leadership presence to guide, support, and inspire the team around you. The embodiment of Rosewood’s Relationship Hospitality, you deliver intuitive, personalised service while ensuring those alongside you are performing at their very best.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the standard on the floor — leading by example through attentive, personalised service and supporting associates through briefings, in-service coaching, and a genuinely collaborative approach.
- Provide warm, professional service to guests, anticipating individual needs and offering confident menu guidance, allergen awareness, and wine pairings that elevate the dining experience.
- Oversee table presentation, service flow, and timely clearance, taking responsibility for the overall standard of the floor and handling any guest concerns with discretion and ownership.
- Lead the team confidently in the absence of management, making sound decisions that prioritise both the guest experience and the wellbeing of associates.
- Take full ownership of opening and closing procedures, mise en place, and daily preparations — ensuring every shift begins guest-ready and runs without interruption.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
