Barback – Soho House

About the Role…

At Soho House, a Barback plays an essential supporting role in the smooth and efficient operation of the bar. Working alongside the bar team, you’ll ensure that bartenders have everything they need to deliver fast, high-quality service to our members and guests.

Your main responsibility is to assist the bar staff and make sure the member gets a superior experience. You will deliver drinks orders from the bar to members’ tables, acting as a point of contact between the bar and the floor.

Key Duties…

  • Bring drinks quickly from the bar to their respective location in the restaurants and deliver to members
  • Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment
  • Provide service to an assigned section and hold accountability for it
  • Develop relationships with members to offer personalized service
  • Polish glassware, ensuring it is ready for service
  • Assist bartenders during service by: restocking ingredients, running drinks and retrieving supplies from storage or cellar
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down stations
  • Ensure all service equipment is handled, stored and maintained carefully
  • Attend regular meetings with front and back-of-house teams for menu changes, specials, and daily tastings

Requirements

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Basic understanding of bar operations, hygiene standards, and stock rotation
  • Must exhibit hospitability, be approachable, passionate about customer service, and show respect for colleagues and guests
  • Ability to demonstrate competency in training schedules and club school programmes
  • Must be flexible, able to work various shifts (including weekends and holidays when required), and take direction well
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and work autonomously

Pay Range

£14.50 per hour (UKbaseline salary range) (Note: Salary may vary based on location.)
