Barbering Teacher
About the role: Barbering Teacher
Activate Learning is excited to invite a dedicated and experienced Barbering Teacher to join our team, where you will play a key role in delivering exceptional teaching and learning experiences to students pursuing the VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering, with 7 hours a week teaching our level 1-2 hairdressing learners too. We are seeking a passionate professional with a blend of industry expertise and a genuine commitment to education. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of barbers by equipping students with both practical and theoretical skills necessary for success in the industry.
Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering lessons that cover the full scope of the barbering curriculum, as well as assessing student progress. You will provide essential support and guidance to ensure each student reaches their full potential and is well-prepared for a career in barbering.
This is a permanent at our Reading College campus and we would consider applicants for a full-time (37 hours) or part-time (29.6 hours per week, 0.8 FTE) role. You will be teaching two evenings per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with later starts on other days each week to compensate.

A successful candidate will inspire and motivate learners, guiding them to achieve both their professional qualifications and the key personal attributes necessary for thriving in the workplace. Your enthusiasm for helping young people develop will be at the heart of this role.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess up-to-date experience and knowledge of the hairdressing and barbering industries. Additionally, they should be committed to fostering the skills of future professionals. Specific qualifications and experience that will help you succeed include:
Level 2 (or higher) qualifications in Barbering and hairdressing are essential. Experience in delivering education or training is highly desirable. A teaching or assessing qualification would both be desirable.
