Freelance Opportunity – Bargemaster / Jack-Up Engineer (Outside IR35) Location: Offshore UK Waters Contract: Freelance – Outside IR35 Day Rate: Competitive (Dependent on Experience) Sector: Offshore Wind / Marine / Heavy Lift
We are supporting a leading offshore contractor in securing an experienced Bargemaster / Jack-Up Engineer for upcoming projects in UK waters. This is an excellent opportunity to join high-profile offshore campaigns on a freelance (Outside IR35) basis.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the safe and efficient operation of jack-up vessels and barges Manage and monitor jacking operations, leg penetration, stability, and ballast control Act as the technical authority for vessel positioning and seabed interaction Support offshore installation and heavy lift activities from a marine operations perspective Ensure full compliance with class requirements, client procedures, and UK regulations Collaborate closely with Marine, Project, and HSE teams onboard

Requirements: Demonstrable experience as a Bargemaster and/or Jack-Up Engineer in offshore environments Strong knowledge of jack-up operations, stability calculations, and marine procedures Background in offshore wind, oil & gas, or marine construction projects Valid offshore certifications (e.g. STCW, BOSIET/FOET, Offshore Medical) Must hold a UK Limited Company (LTD) Must have the right to work in the UK Experience working on projects within UK waters is highly desirable
