Barista
Job Description
About Us
Earl’s is a day and night deli. We’re combining all the things we love: great food, incredible coffee, world class drinks and warm, friendly service to create the ultimate neighbourhood destination. We aren’t reinventing things. We’re just doing them properly.
The Role
We’re looking for a bright, friendly Barista to join the Earl’s family.
The Ideal Candidate Must Be
- Experienced - We’re looking for someone who knows a thing or two about coffee. If you’ve never worked in a coffee shop before, or if you don’t drink coffee, this job isn’t for you.
- Passionate - You have to love giving customers the best possible experience. Genuinely, really love it. Loving great coffee helps, too.
- A problem solver - We are both thinkers and doers at Earl’s. You have to be ready to solve complex problems at short notice and roll with the punches when things get tough.
- Detail orientated - We don’t just repurpose dishes that already exist; we reinvent them. This only happens when we focus on the detail; doing the smallest things right to make a big difference to our customers.
- Accountable - Things don’t always go to plan and you need to be ready to shoulder the responsibility, learn from your mistakes and grow beyond them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
