Barista - Costa
Part Time Barista & Coffee Specialist – Major High Street Brand
(20 hours per week, 4 days in 7 stroke-shifts)

What You’ll Be Doing
Your primary focus is crafting unforgettable coffee experiences while ensuring a top-tier customer service. Here’s what your role will involve:
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve perfectly balanced espresso-based drinks, specialty beverages, and high-quality cuisine with confidence
- Maintain a clean and professional bar area, including brewing equipment, utensils, and surroundings
- Handle transactions accurately, including cash and card payments
- Collaborate with your team to resolve customer queries, suggestions, and complaints
- Monitor food and drink stock levels, ensuring clean plates and cups are always available
- Train to master brewing methods, coffee preparation techniques, and food presentation standards
- Troubleshoot and report any technical issues with brewing equipment like espresso machines and grinders
- Uphold Costa’s brand values, reflecting our friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service
- Comply with Food Hygiene and Safety standards, completing regular training as required

Essential Skills & Qualities
- A can-do attitude and dedication to delivering exceptional service
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles—be it retail, hospitality, or beyond
- Reliability and strong timekeeping skills—you’re the team behind scheduling needs
- The ability to work well under pressure, especially during peak times
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Fluent in using barista equipment, such as espresso machines and grinders
- A natural team player, with a growth mindset ready to learn and progress
Ideal Traits
- Proactive thinker—always finding ways to enhance the customer experience
- Attention to detail, especially with brew quality and food hygiene
- A real teenage ego when it comes to coffee (sorry, we mean passion)!
- Comfortable gearing up for shift patterns (4 days in 7) in en optimistic It always gets better!terms
