Barista – St Philip’s Place, Birmingham

Location: St Philip’s Place, Birmingham

Salary: £13.36 per hour, 24 hours per week (Tuesday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM)

Job Description

Responsibilities: • Delight our customers by greeting them in a friendly and professional manner • Efficiently prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks using the correct methods, equipment and to our standards • Share the story of our menu and provide recommendations to customers while being aware of allergen procedures • Host a Deli Style Counter, including assembling hot food and breakfast items • Maintain the pride of your workspace, ensuring cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar and surrounding areas in line with company and COSHH standards • Follow all health and safety and food safety guidelines and procedures • Monitor stock levels and restock supplies as needed • Use till systems for taking payments and orders • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any complaints or issues • Assist as part of the team with other tasks when needed, including:

  • Supporting deliveries and hospitality drop-offs
  • Creating a welcoming environment in the deli bar

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality; must be natural with people • Strong work ethic and an even stronger smile • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills • Passion for delivering outstanding customer service • Ability to embody and perpetuate company philosophy and culture • Alignment with the BaxterStorey core values • Must have a contagious passion for coffee/tea and service • Ability to draw satisfaction from working in a collaborative, inclusive team • Solution-oriented approach to challenges • Preferred: Previous experience in a similar role, especially in food service • Some knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
