Barista / Coffee Shop Assistant – Part-Time (8hrs/week) (Pausa Coffees)

About the Role

Pay:

  • 16–17 years old: £8.72 per hour
  • 18+ years: £13.39 per hour

Your local Pausa store is seeking a Coffee Shop Assistant (Barista) to join our team and help bring joy to customers with every cup they serve.

Our Pausa coffee shops thrive on the passion and dedication of their Coffee Shop Assistants. This role is at the heart of everything we do—you’ll perfect every coffee brew, deliver outstanding product knowledge, and create meaningful connections with our customers. Whether it’s a regular customer leaning in for their usual or a first-time visitor stepping in for the first time, your vibrant energy and commitment will ensure they leave feeling better than when they arrived.

This is a rigorous, fast-paced role that requires dedication, focus, and a willingness to go the extra mile. Our goal: to make every visit to Pausa an experience that people eagerly repeat.

What You’ll Be Doing

Store & Customer-First Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene at all times.
  • Work collaboratively in a tight-knit team, thriving under pressure while excelling in our product knowledge.
  • Serve hot and cold beverages with an emphasis on customer delight.
  • Prepare and present savoury and sweet food items to spark joy.
  • Ensure all cooked dishes are served hot, food presentation meets expectations, and restaurant tables are promptly sanitised.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness across the kitchen, service areas, and restaurant to support a positive customer experience.

Customer Experience & Teamwork

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to achieve strong CSAT scores—ensuring every customer feels welcomed, assisted, and reminded.
  • Go above and beyond to create joyful, memorable dining experiences.
  • Must be comfortable handling dairy, nuts, and meat products including pork in food preparation areas.
