Bar Manager

About the Role

At Soho House, the Bar Manager is the leader of the bar operation, responsible for creating a world-class beverage experience that reflects the quality, exclusivity, and atmosphere of the club. You will oversee the full bar operation, from service delivery and staff management to product selection and financial performance, ensuring the bar remains a vibrant and profitable hub within the Club.

You’ll:

  • Manage, develop, and inspire your team
  • Collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage and Events teams
  • Ensure all drinks offerings—from signature cocktails to large-scale events—are delivered to the highest standards

Key Duties

  • Drive exceptional service standards by developing and refining systems that enhance the experience for members, guests, and staff
  • Lead engaging training sessions on Soho House food and drink programs (e.g., Cook House, House Tonic, Club School)
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless guest interactions, aligning with brand expectations
  • Support recruitment efforts, including interviewing and evaluating candidates alongside the People & Development team
  • Ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities
  • Maintain cleanliness and legal health & safety standards across the bar
  • Oversee Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development
  • Participate in management team decision-making and required meetings
  • Delegate tasks and determine beverage methods during shifts
  • Enforce standards of appearance, compliance, safety, and professionalism

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar managerial capacity
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments, solving problems calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Hospitable, approachable personality with a passion for customer service and respect for colleagues & guests
  • Proven ability to fulfill training competencies outlined in the Club School schedule
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays when needed
  • Strong team player who can both take direction and work autonomously
