The Role…

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cocktail Bartender to join the team at The Long Bar & Grill inside the stylish Harbour Hotel in Guildford on a part-time basis. As a Cocktail Bartender, you will be responsible for creating exceptional, handcrafted cocktails and providing outstanding service to our guests. Your expertise in mixology, attention to detail, and ability to engage with customers will contribute to creating a memorable experience for our guests.

Your duties will include:

  • Utilise your in-depth knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and mixology techniques to create innovative and visually appealing drink recipes that showcase your creativity and craftsmanship. 
  • Collaborate with the management and bar team to develop fresh and exciting signature creations for service incorporating seasonal ingredients, current trends, and our guests’ preferences. 
  • Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality. 
  • Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, offering recommendations, answering questions, and providing exceptional service throughout their visit. 
  • Maintain a clean and organised bar area, including stocking and replenishing supplies, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Utilise your product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques to upsell premium spirits, signature cocktails, and other bar offerings to maximise revenue potential. 
  • Foster a positive working environment by communicating effectively with the bar and service staff, assisting colleagues when needed, and collaborating on special events and promotions. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, mixology techniques, and new product releases, and share your knowledge with the team to enhance their skills and maintain a high standard of service. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to regulations regarding the service of alcohol, ensuring responsible service practices.

As a cocktail bartender, you will have:

  • A minimum of 1 year of professional bartending experience, with a focus on cocktail preparation and mixology techniques. 
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, wine, beer, and mixology, including classic and contemporary cocktail recipes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create unique and visually appealing cocktails while maintaining a balanced flavour profile. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact with a diverse range of guests in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, allowing you to effectively communicate with guests and team members. 
  • Proven ability to multitask, work efficiently under pressure, and prioritise tasks to ensure timely service and an organised work environment. 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment. 
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business needs.
