About 1 The Island Quarter
1 The Island Quarter is an ambitious and exciting real estate development of a 36-acre freehold site in the heart of Nottingham, a development that has been ongoing since 2016 when the land was acquired. We are a new and dynamic hospitality team charged with creating 1 The Island Quarter to be a sustainable business, transforming it into a cultural hub, a new and exciting destination for experiencing food, arts, music, sporting events, and other community interests. The first phase consists of:
- 2 restaurants - Binks Yard and Cleaver & Wake
- An outside live events space with a bandstand
- An internal venue for private functions
- A rooftop terrace
- A florist

Cleaver & Wake
Cleaver & Wake is more than a restaurant; it is an experience. The vision of our Chef Patron Laurence Henry, the menu allows you to be on a food journey, cooked in our open kitchen by our very skilled and passionate chefs. Our knowledgeable bar team will pair drinks that heighten your experience, and our front-of-house team know no bounds on ensuring that you are taken care of. Bartender Role
Guest-focused, charisma, flair, and an excellent cocktail experience are amongst the special ingredients you will need to make the perfect bartender at Cleaver & Wake.
- Our cocktail menu is a twist on the classics; you will need to know your Negronis from your Martinis, as well as getting to know more elaborate sips.
- You have excellent wine knowledge, expertly pairing with our exceptional menu, all delivering a first-class guest experience.
- With no two days being the same, you are adaptable to each scenario and ensuring the guest is at the heart of what we do.
- Career development is here for you if you want to progress – we will also support you to excel in your role if you wish to become a bartender expert.
- This role is a part-time role.
