The Distefano family, spanning two generations, founded San Carlo over 30 years ago. Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers upon approach and taking drink orders
  • Preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently
  • Checking IDs to ensure age compliance and preventing over-serving
  • Maintaining bar standards – cleaning glasses, restocking supplies, and keeping surfaces tidy
  • Managing cash & credit transactions – opening/closing tabs and handling change
  • Enhancing the customer experience by creating a welcoming, friendly atmosphere
  • Engaging with guests – making drink recommendations and answering menu questions
  • Monitoring inventory and placing supply orders as needed
  • Supporting the bar team by providing guidance and assistance when required

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven bartending/bar experience
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Highly organised with attention to spacing key details
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and show judgment under minimal supervision
