Position: Specialist Bars Bartender – Elsa’s Cocktail Bar and Bertie’s Whisky Bartender

Braemar, Cairngorms National Park | Full-Time

Awarded Condé Nast Traveler Triple Crown and holder of 2 Michelin Keys, the Fife Arms is one of Scotland’s most celebrated hotels. Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, our historic hotel blends heritage, art, and world-class hospitality into an unforgettable guest experience.

We are seeking a Specialist Bars Bartender to support the operational management of Elsa’s Cocktail Bar and Bertie’s Whisky Bar. This role requires a passion for both mixology and whisky, with a strong focus on product knowledge, service excellence, and atmosphere control – all contributing to guest satisfaction and maximised sales.

Our glamorous Art Deco-inspired hideaway paying homage to the iconic fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli. Known for its striking aesthetic, beautifully crafted cocktails, and exceptional service, Elsa’s is the Highlands’ ultimate cocktail destination.

At The Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar, is a testament to what a whisky bar is, with around 400 whiskies on our shelves arranged by flavour profile. Our team know the collection inside and out and act as a guide to all guests that join us.

About The Role

As Specialist Bars Bartender, you will:

  • Be part of our passionate team in delivering high-quality drinks and seamless service.
  • Curate and craft cocktails using top-tier Scottish spirits and artisanal ingredients.
  • Conduct tastings and assist the Specialist Bars Manager.
  • Contribute to working together with whisky advisors, specialists, and distilleries to curate a whisky menu that is diverse and interesting.
  • Approach sales opportunities (up-selling) to maximise revenue by making informed recommendations based on in-depth knowledge of the whisky menu.
  • Elevate the guest experience with flair, warmth, and creativity.

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Whisky Bartender or Mixologist in a high-end, boutique environment.
  • Expert knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and mixology trends, as well as whisky.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • A passion for creativity, storytelling through service, and exceeding guest expectations.
  • A high standard of professionalism and attention to detail.
