Role: Bartender
On the team at Hard Rock Cafe, the Bartender is much more than just someone who serves drinks. As a tour guide, communicator, showman, decision-maker, memorabilia curator, and entertainer (with a touch of musician at heart!), you are the first point of contact for guests—paving the way for a positive experience before they settle into their seats.
Responsibilities
Core Bartending Duties
- Crafting drinks to spec recipes
- Ensuring responsible alcohol service
- Serving food
- Handling cash and other forms of payment
- Conducting sales transactions via point-of-sale (POS) system
- Checking IDs per EU/UK mandatory licensing laws (and completing Challenge 25)
- Managing cash drawer balances
- Directing guests to restrooms or other areas
- Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge
- Suggestive selling using proven techniques
- Maintaining a clean,organized bar area
- Ensuring proper product inventory through bar pulls and stock checks
- Stocking liquor, beer, wine and glassware during the shift
- Properly labeling, dating, covering, and refrigerating bar-prepped items
- Operating a 3-compartment sink to sanitize equipment, utensils, and glassware
- Performing opening, closing, and cleanup duties—setting up/breaking down the bar, wiping glass and counters, sweeping floors, etc.
- Answering guest questions accurately and politely
- Creating memorable experiences to turn guests into "Raving Fans"
