About Us
The Bell in Charlbury is a laidback yet sophisticated modern British pub nestled within a 17th Century Cotswolds building. Known as a hidden gem, it offers a warm, family-friendly space that seamlessly transitions into an exceptional dining experience centered around quality cuisine.
With 13 beautifully appointed rooms and visually stunning food, featuring vibrant, organic seasonal ingredients sourced from Daylesford Farm, The Bell delivers comforting yet creative dishes. Deeply embedded in the community, the pub frequently hosts events and workshops in collaboration with local organisations.
Under the guidance of Nathan Walker-Unwin—a visionary figure in founding two acclaimed Daylesford pubs—The Bell fosters a welcoming culture, where every team member is valued and every guest is treated like family.
About the Role
As we grow our team, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bartender to join us and help elevate our drinks offering to new heights.
You will play a core role in delivering our exclusive range of handcrafted, artisanal cocktails—made with the freshest, seasonal ingredients. Your expertise will be especially vital in our stunning beer garden, a beloved spot for locals and visitors.

Responsibilities

Crafting and serving a diverse range of beverages, including:
- Classic cocktails
- Local ales
- Seasonal specials

Infusing creativity and flair into our drinks menu, with opportunities to pitch new ideas and seasonal innovations.

Delivering memorable guest experiences through warm, attentive service.

Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar area.

Supporting the team during busy periods and contributing to a positive working environment.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven bartending or mixology experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
- A passionate love for drinks, hospitality, and customer service.
- In-depth knowledge of spirits, wines, and cocktail-making techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic mindset—excelling in dynamic environments.

The On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role is £33,469.20 per annum based on a 45-hour contract, comprising a base salary of £28,969.20 plus an estimated £4,500 in gratuities and service charge. This is a pressurised salary, paid hourly.
Gratuities & Service Charge Notes:
- Gratuities are allocated pro-rata.
- In 2026, full-time employees may expect to earn an additional £4,500 alongside their annual salary.
